ABOUT THE GARDEN PARTY
Each year, members of the Medical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania (MSEP) gather for an afternoon of fellowship, reflection, and celebration at our Annual Garden Party.
Held in a beautiful garden setting, this longstanding tradition provides an opportunity for physicians, medical leaders, trainees, and friends of MSEP to connect outside of clinical and professional spaces. The gathering serves as a reminder that medicine is strengthened not only through professional excellence, but through community, mentorship, and meaningful relationships.
WHY WE GATHER
For generations, MSEP has worked to support underrepresented physicians and advance health equity throughout the Philadelphia region. The Annual Garden Party reflects that mission by creating space for members to build relationships, share experiences, and celebrate the collective achievements of our medical community.
In a profession that often demands so much of those who serve, the Garden Party offers a moment to reconnect—with colleagues, with mentors, and with the values that brought us to medicine in the first place.
The event brings together physicians across specialties, career stages, and institutions, fostering the spirit of fellowship that has long been central to MSEP’s work.
HONORING THE NEXT GENERATION
A highlight of the Annual Garden Party is the recognition of participants in MSEP’s Resident Support Program.
Each year, selected scholars are welcomed into the MSEP community and celebrated as they begin the next chapter of their medical training. Through financial support, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, the Resident Support Program helps ease the transition into residency while strengthening connections among emerging physicians in the Philadelphia area.
The Garden Party provides members with an opportunity to meet these future leaders, share wisdom from their own journeys, and help cultivate a supportive professional network that extends beyond residency training.
